Recoating of the wave pool water feature was underway. The client was advised of the benefits of a single coat system rather than a two coat system in order to avoid any debonding issues. Coatings are carried out for two main purposes;

1. Visual appeal/Ascetic appeal.
2. Waterproofing.

In a two coat/layer system, there are chances of debonding amongst the layers due to various reasons such as different elongations between the products, overcoat windows not being followed by the applicator and variations in thickness for both the products which could lead to tear.

The client opted for the one layer aliphatic pure polyurea due to the long term benefits of the overall system.

DELTAShield AQUALINE AL is a two component, spray applied, instant curing, high performance elastomeric waterproof membrane that can be built to any thickness in one application. It is ideal for swimming pools, lagoons and water bodies where the requirement of color stability is required in an elastomeric coating. DELTAShield AQUALINE AL is UV and colour stable, suitable for pedestrian and vehicular traffic and can be installed with slip resistant surface profile options. DELTAShield AQUALINE AL is specifically formulated for applications where the highest physical performance is required along with colour fastness to ensure functionality and aesthetics.

Surface preparation was carried out using DELTAPrime 2K SF and DELTAPrime Filler.
