One of the largest mall in the region was being built in Sharjah. DELTAShield Hybrid 500 was specified as a fully bonded & seamless underlay waterproofing system over the freshly laid concrete.

Sealing concrete repels water and extends it life. Most projects throughout the region continue to use the same products that were being used 20 years ago. Huge developments have made major changes at how we consider waterproofing. A loosely laid system, bonded on the joints vs a fully bonded spray applied liquid coating that is touch dry in 20 seconds, has crack bridging abilities of 1.3 cm @ 23°C, elongations above 500% and tensile strength above 16 mpa. Membrane punctures are a main cause of leakages in traditional coatings. This is not the case with DELTAShield Hybrid 500 with impact resistance of 9 J/mm @ 23°C and tear growth resistance of 14 N/mm. The consultants and asset owners looked for newer, innovative, long lasting technologies and specified DELTAShield Hybrid 500 as the entire waterproofing solution for foundation waterproofing including plant areas as DELTAShield Hybrid 500 also displays characteristics of EN 14416; resistance to root penetration

The speed of application with the benefit of extremely fast curing times allowed the project to move faster with backfilling commencing within 12 hours of the application. The entire waterproofing project was completed 3 months prior to the schedule making the client very satisfied with the performance of DELTAShield Hybrid 500.

DELTAPrime 2K SF and DELTAPrime Filler were used for the initial surface preparation.
